ILIGAN CITY – A nine-year-old Grade 3 pupil of the Maria Cristina Falls Elementary School here was allegedly mauled by four Grade 8 students in Purok 30, Zone 12, Barangay Maria Cristina, this city, on Monday, Aug. 4.
The victim, Jonard Ensipido, sustained serious injuries and is confined in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital in Cagayan de Oro City. A teacher who visited Ensipido said he was conscious and smiling.

The victim’s father, Jonelon, is praying that his son would recover.
The suspects have been apprehended and under investigation, Iligan City Police Office spokesperson Police Major Zandrex Panolong said.
Police are looking at revenge as motive as the victim allegedly had a confrontation with a relative of one of the suspects.
A teacher and officer-in-charge of the victim’s school said they were never informed and only learned of the incident on social media and were attending a seminar from Aug. 6 to 8 and conducted modular classes.
She also denied a viral video of the incident circulating online.
The victim’s family pleaded for justice and financial assistance.
