Film outfit to send demand letter vs Abrenica brothers
Atty. Noel Atienza
Lawyer Noel Atienza has revealed that Bright Ideas Production will send a demand letter against actors Aljur and Vin Abrenica, who allegedly failed to promote the movie 'Wild Boys.'
During a recent press conference in Quezon City, Atty. Noel stated that the film outfit will ask the Abrenica brothers to clarify their side since they did not participate in promoting the film.
'We will give them a chance to explain. The failures — number one, promotion. There was a premiere night. I don't want to file right away without allowing them to explain. If they fail to explain, that is when we will file breach of contract with damages,' the lawyer said during an interview recently.
Atty. Noel added: 'Even in the absence of an express statement, you should promote that for the success of the movie. But there was no response. I don't want to file right away.'
The lawyer also stated that they had tried every possible way to contact the Abrenica brothers.
'There was no response. All of those acts of the producer getting in touch. I didn't hear back from you. There was nothing from all aspects, and there were no possible people to call. They may need to comply with my demand to rectify their failures,' Atty. Noel said.
However, in a report by ABS-CBN, the management of the Abrenica brothers has responded to the issue, saying there was miscommunication between the two groups.
'While there is no issue working with Viva, the company was not mentioned in the contract, and they were unaware that it would serve as the distributor. They added that no endorsement was made, and they were neither given a schedule nor informed that the distributor would be the one coordinating with them,' said the management of the actors.
Set to open in cinemas nationwide on Aug. 13, “Wild Boys” stars Aljur and Vin Abrenica, Kristof Garcia, Inday Garutay, Nico Locco, Christian Ty, Rolando Inocencio, Cataleya Surio, Rash Flores, CJ Garcia, and Atak Star.
