A bomb threat rocked the De La Salle University Laguna in Binan City on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Police said the bomb threat was reported at around 3:30 p.m.
The Laguna police provincial explosive ordinance and disposal and canine unit was deployed and found no explosives inside or around the school.
Police declared the area safe and allowed normal activities to resume.
"De La Salle University Laguna received a bomb threat this afternoon, Aug. 12. The local authorities were immediately alerted about this and the administration implemented the emergency protocols," the school said in an online statement.
"As a precautionary measure, access to the campus was restricted. As of 6 p.m., the situation was cleared by the provincial explosive ordinance and disposal and canine unit."
"The safety of the students and the whole academic community is of utmost importance to the University and DLSU and will ensure the security of everyone under its care," it added.
Police said the bomb threat was sparked by a personal issue from an unknown caller.
