Ford Philippines marks its official entry into the electrified vehicle space with the launch of its two new models, the Territory Hybrid, and the fully electric Mach-E both on the same day.
We’ve covered the Territory Hybrid in a prior story. Ford’s second vehicle is its entry to the full-electric vehicle segment with the official launch of the all-new Mustang Mach-E. The Mustang Mach-E combines electric power, modern driving technology, signature design cues, and a legendary driving experience. The Mustang Mach-E carries delivers the unmistakable Mustang spirit via a zero-emission package.
Extended range and power
The Mustang Mach-E is powered by a dual permanent magnet synchronous motor that drives all four wheels, producing 290-kW (394-Ps) and 676-Nm of torque. It draws current from an 88-kWh extended-range lithium-ion NCM battery that delivers up to 550-kilometers of range (WLTP). Charging options include both Type 2 (AC) and CCS2 (DC) ports, with support for AC charging up to 11-kW and DC fast charging up to 150-kW. A compatible home wall charger can replenish the battery overnight, while a 150-kW DC charger can bring it from 10 percent to 80 percent in about 36 to 45 minutes.
Personalizing the drive experience
All that power can by managed by three selectable drive modes. There’s Whisper mode for soft steering and throttle response, Engage mode balances comfort and performance, while Unbridle mode sharpens handling and acceleration for a more dynamic drive.
One-Pedal driving
The 1-Pedal Drive system allows the driver to accelerate and decelerate using only the accelerator pedal. Lifting off the pedal activates regenerative braking, which slows the vehicle and recovers energy for the battery. This feature reduces brake use, improves efficiency, and enhances control, especially in stop-and-go traffic.
Mustang heritage
The Mustang Mach-E retains the fastback silhouette and tri-bar tail lamps that define the Mustang’s identity. A frameless grille with active shutters works with LED projector headlamps featuring automatic leveling, sequential turn signals, and signature lighting. It rolls on 19-inch machine-finished aluminum wheels.
A panoramic glass roof opens up the cabin, while the E-Latch door system replaces conventional handles for a cleaner look and better aerodynamics. When the vehicle detects the driver, pressing the B-pillar button releases the door, which opens slightly for easy access via a small aerodynamic hook. Rear passengers use a soft-touch release on the door frame. Other exterior features include power-folding heated mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, and a hands-free power liftgate.
Comfort and convenience
Inside are perforated ActiveX synthetic leather seats with 10-way power adjustment for both driver and front passenger. Heated front seats, dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, and rear air vents keep the cabin comfortable in all conditions. The driver gets a
10.2-inch low-profile digital instrument cluster while entertainment is care of a 15.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium sound system with subwoofer. Like the Territory, the Mach-E also comes with FordPass Connect, which lets owners manage their Mach-E right from their mobile devices.
The trunk boasts of 402-liters and up to 1,420 liters of load space with the rear seats folded down. It is complemented by a front trunk (‘frunk’) storage unit, providing an additional 80 liters of storage space.
Safety and driver assistance
The Mustang Mach-E is equipped with nine airbags, covering the driver, passenger, front center, front side, rear side, and curtain positions. A 360-degree camera with split view improves visibility for parking and low-speed maneuvers.
Standard safety systems include ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, traction control, and the SecuriLock passive anti-theft system. Driver assistance features include Collision Mitigation, Reverse Brake Assist, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keeping System with alert and aid functions, Adaptive Cruise Control, and a Driver Impairment Monitor.
Pricing and package
The Mustang Mach-E is available at ₱3,499,000. Upon purchase, customers will get a free 3.5-kW portable charger and 7-kW wall box charger.
“The Mustang Mach-E is one of the most exciting vehicles Ford has ever introduced,” said Pedro Simoes, managing director, Ford Philippines. “This purpose-built all-electric vehicle is unique, unmistakably a Mustang, and with a leading-edge driving range coming at exactly the right time for the growing Mustang enthusiast community in the country.”
Ford Philippines is offering the Mustang Mach-E Premium All-Wheel Drive Extended Range variant in the country.
