Cops net P17-M shabu in Mandaue City

CEBU CITY – Suspected shabu worth P17 million was seized from a 35-year-old drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in Mandaue City on Saturday night, Aug. 9.

Police described Ian Mark Rosales Velasquez as a high-value individual. The suspect, a resident of Barangay Pit-os, Cebu City, was cornered in Sitio Uniwide, Barangay Tipolo.
Lawmen said packs of shabu seized from the suspect weighed 2.5 kilos.
Police Lt. Col. Mark Gifter Sucalit, chief of the City Intelligence Unit of the Mandaue City Police Office, said the suspect was monitored for a month before he was finally arrested.
Police said the suspect was capable of selling four kilos of shabu a month in the cities of Cebu and Mandaue.
The suspect’s contact is currently detained who would direct him when a drug shipment arrives.
Police said the suspect was paid P15,000 for every delivery of illegal drugs.
