Bacolod cops net P4.76-M shabu

Drug enforcement teams of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized P4.76 million in shabu in a series of buy-busts between Sunday night and early Monday morning.
“I commend the operatives for their dedication and commitment in the fight against illegal drugs in Bacolod City,” BCPO Director Police Col. Joeresty Coronica said in a statement.
Each gram of shabu has a standard drug price of P6,800 per gram.

On Monday, the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) recovered 100 grams of shabu worth P680,000 past midnight in Bangga Vista Alegre, Barangay Mansilingan.
Suspects Reagan, 38, a jeepney driver, and Rolando, 40, fish vendor, were arrested after selling a sachet of shabu worth P1,000 to a police poseur-buyer.
In Barangay Handumanan on Sunday night, the CDEU recovered shabu valued at P3.536 million.
Two suspects were arrested, Levi, 29, of Lucky Homes, Barangay Handumanan, and Raegil, 30, of Fortune Town, Barangay Estefania, after selling a sachet of shabu for P1,000 to an undercover policeman during a meetup in Zone 5 at past 8:30 p.m.
They yielded five knot-tied and seven heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 520 grams of shabu.
Anti-illegal drug personnel of Police Station 8 in Barangay Singcang-Airport recovered from two persons 80 grams of shabu valued at P544,000.
The suspects, Evon, 27, a home-based call center agent, and her partner, Riche, 50, an ambulance driver, both residents of Cadiz City, Negros Occidental, were arrested during the operation around 8:42 p.m. on Sunday.
Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. stated in an interview on Monday that Riche, a regular city government employee, will be placed under suspension while the police investigation is ongoing.
Suspects will be charged for violating Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (With a report from PNA)
