PBBM declares special non-working days in 4 areas in Luzon, Mindanao
President Marcos has declared special non-working days in three municipalities and one city in Catanduanes, Zamboanga del Sur, Rizal, and Quezon Province this month.

Through Proclamation No. 983, Marcos declared Aug. 15 as a special non-working day in the municipality of Viga in Catanduanes for the celebration of "Araw ng Viga."
"[I]t is but fitting and proper that the people of the Municipality of Viga be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration," Marcos stated in the proclamation dated July 24.
Marcos also signed Proclamation No. 984, declaring Aug. 29 as a special non-working day in the municipality of Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur for the celebration of the Padul-Os Festival.
The President stated that declaring the date, which falls on a Friday, as a special non-working day to give the people of Kumalarang the full opportunity to participate in the occasion.
The proclamation was also signed on July 24.
Furthermore, Marcos signed Proclamation No. 986, declaring Aug. 19 as a special non-working day in Angono, Rizal as it will commemorate the signing of its independence as a municipality from the municipality of Binangonan, Rizal.
The Chief Executive declared the date, which falls on a Tuesday, as a special non-working for the same reason as the earlier proclamations. It was signed on Aug. 4.
Marcos also declared Aug. 20 as a special non-working day in Lucena City through Proclamation No. 987.
He made the declaration to give the people of Lucena City a full opportunity to join in celebration of the city's 64th Charter Anniversary or "Araw ng Lucena."
