Netflix renews 'One Piece' for season 3, drops trailer for season 2
Netflix announced that it has renewed the live-action “One Piece” for season 3 and released the trailer for season 2.
The first look for “One Piece” season 2 was released on Aug. 10, coinciding with the “One Piece Day” in Tokyo.
“One Piece” season 2 will premiere on Netflix in 2026, promising to have “fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet.”
Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line, a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journey in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies.
The series also received an early renewal for season 3, which will start production in Cape Town, South Africa later this year. Ian Stokes will join Joe Tracz as co-showrunner for season 3.
“One Piece” is a live-action pirate adventure created in partnership with Shueisha and produced by Tomorrow Studios (an ITV Studios partner) and Netflix.
“One Piece” the live-action series debuted on Netflix in 2023 and spent eight weeks on the streaming platform’s Global Top 10, reaching No. 1 in over 75 countries and making history as the first Netflix English-language series to debut at No. 1 in Japan. It has nearly 100 million views and is one of Netflix's most downloaded shows of all time.
