Self-proclaimed "congressmeow" Francis "Kiko" Barzaga wants to put his own, unique spin on the very popular "Malasakit Centers" of Senator Christopher "Bong" Go.

"Di ba si Senator Bong Go may mga Malasakit Center, gagawa ako ng Meowlasakit Center para sa mga Posadogs nyahahaha (Senator Bong Go has Malasakit Centers rights? I will create a Meowlasakit Center for cats and dogs)," he wrote on Facebook on Sunday night, Aug. 10.

Barzaga, who represents Cavite's 4th district (Dasmariñas City) in Congress, has been unapologetic about his stance on animal welfare.

"Gagawa ako ng mga batas para sa mga stray asodogs at posacats (I will create laws for stray dogs and cats)," he said months ago following his victory in the May 2025 mid-term elections.

In the same polls, Go emerged as the top vote-getter in the Senate race.

Pundits have said that the popular Malasakit Centers--which are one-stop-shops for medical and financial assistance in government hospitals across the country--is a big contributor to this.

Barzaga is a House assistant majority leader in the current 20th Congress.
