Man nabbed for trespassing, illegal possession of firearms in QC
A 21-year-old man was arrested by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) after allegedly trespassing into a private residence and being caught in possession of an unlicensed firearm in Barangay Teacher Village East, Quezon City on Saturday, August 9.
According to the report, the suspect was identified as alias “Vincent” and a resident of Brgy. Culiat.
The suspect was arrested by operatives of Anonas Police Station 9 following a call made through the Emergency Hotline 911.
According to Lt. Col. Zachary Capellan, Station Commander of PS9, the suspect unlawfully entered the home of a 41-year-old businessman at around 10:26 a.m. The victim caught the suspect in the act, prompting him to flee on foot toward Madasalin Street.
The homeowner immediately reported the incident via 911 hotline.
Information was relayed to the PS9 Tactical Operations Center, allowing nearby patrolling officers to respond and intercept the suspect within minutes.
Authorities recovered a caliber .38 revolver loaded with six live rounds.
The suspect was unable to produce any documents authorizing possession of the firearm.
A background check through the Investigation Solution Automatic Verification (ISAV) system revealed the suspect had prior records, including multiple cases for theft and illegal gambling between 2022 and 2024.
The suspect is now facing charges for Trespass to Dwelling under the Revised Penal Code and Violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
The case has been forwarded to the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
