BACOLOD CITY – A 10-year-old boy drowned on a river in Barangay 1, Isabela town, Negros Occidental province on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 9.
Police said the victim, a resident of Barangay 4, Isabela town, was swimming with two minor friends when he accidentally ventured into a deep part of the river and struggled to stay afloat.
His companions called help and a resident brought the boy to the riverbank.
Emergency workers took the victim to a hospital where he was declared dead.
