Authorities seized about P572,560 worth of shabu and arrested six suspects in two separate buy-bust operations conducted in different barangays in San Mateo, Rizal.

On Friday night, Aug. 8, the Station Drug Enforcement Team of the San Mateo Municipal Police Station (SDET-San Mateo MPS), in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), arrested “Angelo” and “Clint” during an operation in Barangay Sto. Niño.

Seized from them were seven pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu, with an estimated total weight of 42 grams and a street value of about P285,600.

Authorities also seized two mobile phones and a motorcycle from them.

Meanwhile, at around 1:20 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, SDET-San Mateo MPS and PDEA conducted another buy-bust in Barangay Banaba that resulted in the arrest of “Michael,” “Marilou,” “Joseph,” and “Rocell.”

Authorities said the suspects were arrested inside the house of “Michael,” where they recovered six heat-sealed and unsealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 42.20 grams with an estimated value of P286,960.

Also confiscated from them were a weighing scale, scissors, aluminum foil, and a lighter.

All of the suspects are temporarily detained at the San Mateo Municipal Police Station Custodial Facility.
