Mandaluyong gov't, PhilHealth hold YAKAP event for Mandaleños
Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos, together with officials from the Department of Health - National Capital Region (DOH-NCR) and PhilHealth, lead the YAKAP event at the City Hall.
Dozens of Mandaluyong City senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), solo parents, and 4Ps beneficiaries received free health services and medicines on Saturday, Aug. 9, courtesy of the city government and PhilHealth, as part of the latter's Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP).
Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos, together with officials from the Department of Health - National Capital Region (DOH-NCR) and PhilHealth, led the event at the City Hall aimed at further boosting efforts in implementing the Universal Health Care Law, and bringing much needed healthcare services to different sectors in the city.
Participants availed of free laboratory tests, CBC, chest X-ray, dental consultation, and eye checkup. They also received oral health kits and medicines during the event.
“YAKAP sa Barangay is a PhilHealth activity focused on conducting consultations and health profiling by accredited Yakap Clinics under the city government. It will also be a gateway for onsite PhilHealth registration, updating of member data, and issuance of PhilHealth ID," Abalos said.
“Kabilang sa nasabing aktibidad ay ang maikling talakayan na pinangunahan ng PhilHealth Local Health Insurance Office (LHIO) kung saan ipaliwanag ang mga benepisyo, karapatan, at mga serbisyong maaaring makuha ng publiko sa ilalim ng iba’t ibang programa ng PhilHealth kapag sila ay nagparehistro sa YAKAP Program (The said activity included a short discussion led by the PhilHealth Local Health Insurance Office to explain the benefits, rights, and services that the public can obtain under various PhilHealth programs when they register for the YAKAP Program)," she added.
