ILOILO CITY – Police Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan is overseeing the investigation of the Aug. 8, Friday, killing of Vice Mayor Julio M. Estolloso of Ibajay town in Aklan province.

Ligan inspected on Saturday, Aug. 9, the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) office where Estolloso was shot and killed by SB Member Mihrel B. Senatin.
“This unfortunate incident is deeply concerning, especially as it involves individuals who serve the public in positions of trust,” said the Police Regional Office-6 director.
Ligan was briefed by Ibajay police chief Police Major Rajiv Salbino and investigators from the Ibajay Municipal Police Station.
The PRO-6 head also met key officers of the Aklan Police Provincial Office, the National Bureau of Investigation, and Prosecutor Flosemer Chris Gonzales.
Salbino said in an interview with Manila Bulletin that they are awaiting the autopsy results of the victim and the ballistics examination from the suspect’s Glock 17 pistol.
Senatin declined to undergo a drug test.
