Josh Yugen takes over Miss Universe Denmark franchise

House of Yugen - an international media and talent agency founded by visionary Filipino entrepreneur Josh Yugen - has officially been appointed as the new franchise holder of Miss Universe Denmark.With this acquisition, House of Yugen adds Denmark to its growing portfolio of Miss Universe franchises, which includes Bahrain, Pakistan, and Egypt. The group will now lead the nationwide search to select Denmark’s representative to the 74th Miss Universe pageant, set to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, this November.
“With Denmark as the reigning Miss Universe titleholder, our mission is to continue this legacy by making the platform more accessible to every Danish woman - regardless of background or status. There will be no registration fees, ensuring that this journey is open, inclusive, and truly merit-based," Yugen stressed.
"This is not just about a crown. It’s about listening to the voices of Danish women and allowing them to be seen, heard, and celebrated on the world stage,” he added.
It was last May when Manila Bulletin reported that the Miss Universe Denmark franchise was being offered to the House of Yugen, as it established an office in Europe.
Becoming the first Filipino to own multiple Miss Universe franchises brings with it some expectations. Josh assured that Filipino creatives will always be part  of the journey. He stated that they will be hired to provide behind-the-scenes expertise - from catwalk to design and overall mentorship.

What’s next for Miss Universe Denmark
The House of Yugen announced that it will soon begin nationwide casting for Miss Universe Denmark.
This includes interviews, runway assessments, and cultural presentations.  Finalists will be trained in public speaking, global advocacy, and media engagement, with a focus on celebrating both individuality and Danish heritage.In terms of espousing cultural integrity, Yugen said delegates will be encouraged to "showcase Danish identity through personal storytelling, national costume, and social impact initiatives."Miss Universe Denmark 2023, Nikoline Uhrenholt Hansen, will play a key role in this new chapter, serving as a preliminary judge and council member for the upcoming selection. Her experience and legacy will help guide the next wave of Danish candidates.The current Miss Universe, Victoria Kjær Theilvig, hails from Denmark.
 Her victory at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant in Mexico City marked a defining moment for the country, and the world will be watching to see who will follow in her footsteps.Yugen's appointment for the Miss Universe Denmark franchise was announced during Copenhagen Fashion Week, where Josh also launched the first Filipino-led fashion event there, dubbed "Woven Wisdom."
It featured upcycled creations by designer Alexia Nuñez and models from across the Yugen talent network.
