HORI7ON's agency issues statement about video of member Kyler Chua
The agency of global Filipino group HORI7ON issued a statement about the controversy surrounding member Kyler Chua.
HORI7ON debuted in South Korea in July 2023.
Recently, a video of Kyler spread online in which he talked negatively about the other members of HORI7ON.
On Aug. 9, MLD Entertainment, HORI7ON’s Korean agency, issued a statement to apologize about the video.
In addition, the agency said it has filed a complaint against people who spread harmful videos and malicious rumors.
“First and foremost, we sincerely extend our apologies to the fans, the members, and anyone who felt distress due to the past actions of the company's artist, Kyler Chua, in the video that has been shared online,” MLD Entertainment said.
It added, “The members of HORI7ON, including Kyler, have engaged in discussions that led to a mutual understanding and resolution, which has enhanced their unity as a group.”
“To safeguard the reputation and integrity of our artists, the company will not tolerate defamation or the spread of harmful rumors online, nor the distribution of unlawfully obtained materials, and we will pursue legal action both civil and criminal against these unlawful acts,” it said.
The agency said, “We have secured legal representation, met with the National Bureau of Investigation, and lodged a legal complaint against those responsible for circulating these harmful videos and disseminating other malicious rumors. We will persist in taking decisive measures against those who continue to create false rumors or share and promote these claims on social networks and online platforms.”
“Once again, we sincerely apologize for the emotional distress caused to Anchors [fans]. The company will keep on doing our utmost to ensure monitoring our artists, and will keep on taking legal action to protect them. We will continue to take strong legal action against misconduct directed towards our artists after this case. We will maintain our firm legal stance against any wrongdoing directed at our artists moving forward,” it said.
