Government anti-narcotics authorities seized on Friday, Aug. 8, around P1.3 million worth of shabu following the arrest of a 63-year old woman and three others during a buy-bust operation in San Juan City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) stated.
The PDEA Bulacan Provincial Office said that alias Mami, Jon, 27; Lou, 19; and Yael, 25 were collared at one of the city’s popular malls after dealing with an undercover agent.
In a statement, the PDEA said that the operating teams recovered two knot-tied plastic sachets containing 200 grams of shabu and the marked money used in the operation.
The PDEA labelled alias Mami as a well-known bulk distributor of shabu in San Juan City and some areas in Bulacan.
“Confiscated illegal drugs will be forwarded to the PDEA RO3 laboratory for forensic examination,’’ the PDEA disclosed.
The operation was carried out by the PDEA Provincial Offices in Bulacan and Bataan, PDEA National Capital Region and Philippine National Police (PNP) Drug Enforcement Unit San Juan City.
“A non-bailable offense under Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) in relation to Section 26B (conspiracy to sell drugs) of Republic Act 9165 will be charged against the arrested suspects. Section 5 has an imposable penalty of life imprisonment and fines ranging from P500,000.00 to P10,000,000,’’ the PDEA continued.
