Alas Pilipinas couldn't find an antidote in stopping reigning champion Thailand as the Nationals succumbed, 25-22, 25-17, 24-26, 25-16, in Leg 2 of the 5th SEA Women's V.League at the Ninh Binh Gymnasium in Vietnam Saturday evening, Aug. 9.
Similar to their previous duel in Leg 1, the Nationals put up a gallant stand with a strong showing in the third set, but couldn't sustain that momentum as they absorbed their second straight loss.
With the defeat, the Filipina hitters must prevail against Indonesia on Sunday, Aug. 10 at the same venue for another shot at the podium.
The Indonesians were also winless after absorbing a 25-20, 25-19, 25-20 loss to Vietnam.
Vietnam and Thailand's recent feats earned them another gold-medal match.
