Police arrested two men in separate buy-bust operations that led to the seizure of P452,880 worth of shabu in Taguig on Aug. 6.
During the first operation, members of Taguig Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit nabbed alias Adil, 27, a tricycle driver, at about 10:10 p.m. on Sultan Kudarat Street in Barangay Maharlika, Taguig.
Adil, a newly identified high-value individual, was collared after selling shabu to an undercover cop.
Police confiscated four plastic sachets containing shabu weighing 54.5 grams and valued at P370,600, the marked buy-bust money, and other drug paraphernalia.
Ten minutes later, the same unit conducted another entrapment operation at Centennial Talipapa, C5 Road, Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig.
They apprehended alias Oliver, 37, a resident of Barangay Olympia, Makati. Seized from him were six sachets of shabu weighing 12.1 grams valued at P82,280, the marked buy-bust money, and a coin purse used to conceal the contraband.
The two suspects are in police custody and will face complaints for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo, acting Southern Police District director, said the two successful operations demonstrate SPD’s sustained and targeted approach in eradicating illegal drugs, from street-level pushers to high-value targets.
