Tricycle rest day slated in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The city government will strictly implement the rest day provision among tricycles here.

Tricycle Ordinance 185 regulates the operation of motorized tricycles.

In a press conference, Secretary to the Mayor Celso Lobregat said Article 6, Section 3, of Ordinance 185 restricts the movement of tricycles on specific days based on the last digit of their license plate.

The local government has decided to implement the provision, which has not been implemented in a long time, due to worsening traffic.

The schedule for tricycles, including Piaggios, are: Monday, units with plate numbers ending in 1 and 2; Tuesday, 3 and 4; Wednesday, 5 and 6; Thursday, 7 and 8, and Friday, 9 and 0.

Implementation of the rest day provision will start after a week-long information dissemination drive, according to Lobregat.
