Minor who shot 15-year-old student dies

CABANATUAN CITY, Nueva Ecija – A minor who shot and wounded a student then turned the gun on himself inside a classroom in Barangay Rizal, Santa Rosa, Nueva Ecija on Thursday, Aug. 7, died on Friday, Aug. 8.
Police Capt. Noime Gogotano, Nueva Ecija police information officer, said suspect Leo passed away at around 3:30 p.m. in his house where he was taken after his parents lost hope that he will survive.
Leo barged inside the classroom of the victim, Lea, 15, on Thursday afternoon.
The suspect shot the victim in the neck and shot himself afterwards.
The victim and suspect were taken to a hospital.
Lea is fighting for her life and was photographed attached to hospital equipment.
Police said motive for the shooting is jealousy.
Investigation said the couple moved to different schools and quarreled often as a result.
