The San Juan City government on Thursday, Aug. 7, officially opened its Makabagong San Juan National Government Center (NGC) which houses several city and national government offices under a centralized system of services for San Juaneños.
Mayor Francis Zamora, together with his son Rocco, Vice Mayor Angelo Agcaoili, San Juan City Rep. Bel Zamora, and other city government officials, led the inauguration of the six-story building located along Pinaglabanan Road.
With a total project allocation of P1,013,425,000, the NGC is a modern six-story facility with a lower ground floor and basement parking.
The NGC currently houses the Bagong Pilipinas eGovPH Serbisyo Hub and will soon welcome other national agencies.
Inaugurated by the President in July, the Bagong Pilipinas eGovPH Serbisyo Hub is a physical service center model that brings several agencies together in one location for citizens who still need or prefer face‑to‑face assistance.
One of the NGC's centerpiece features is the Makabagong San Juan Theater, a state-of-the-art performance venue with a total seating capacity of 876—comprising 468 seats on the lower level and 408 seats on the balcony.
The theater is equipped with retractable curtains, a projector screen and projector, a built-in professional sound system, and two dressing rooms to showcase the talent and creativity of San Juaneños.
From the 1st to the 3rd floor, the building houses 15 office units per floor designated for national government offices and allied services.
It also includes a dedicated space for the Barangay Hall of St. Joseph and features a wooden-covered basketball court with air conditioning.
“This National Government Center is a testament to our commitment to bring national services closer to our constituents. San Juaneños no longer need to travel far to access agencies and services that should be within reach. This center is for the people of San Juan—accessible, functional, and makabago (modern),” Zamora said.
