Napolcom digs up more names amid 'missing sabungeros' probe-- including police generals
The National Police Commission (Napolcom) is looking into the possible involvement of some police generals in the case of the missing cockfighters.
Napolcom vice chairman and executive officer Rafael Vicente Calinisan said the investigation involving some police generals was a result of the ongoing probe following the revelations made by Julie Patidongan.
“There were some names that came out during the course of our investigation, and we are pursuing these names now,” said Calinisan.
“Among them are some generals,” he added.
Earlier, Napolcom suspended for 90 days a police colonel and 11 other policemen, including a police lieutenant colonel and a police major. The rest are mostly police sergeants.
All of them are facing grave misconduct, grave neglect of duty and conduct unbecoming of a police officer.
Patidongan earlier claimed that the policemen were receiving monthly payola ranging from P200,000 to P2 million.
Calinisan said a total of 18 policemen were actually included in the complaint filed by Patidongan.
