The Highway Patrol Group of the Philippine National Police (PNP-HPG) seized more than 1,500 motorcycles in a week-long road safety and traffic rules regulations operations across the country.
HPG director Brig. Gen. William Segun said the same operations from July 27 to August 3 resulted in the issuance of 15,000 ticket violations and arrest of seven wanted persons for carnapping.
He said 25 stolen motorcycles were also recovered in the operations.
Segun attributed what he described as productive weeklong operations to the conduct of operations, checkpoints, and enforcement activities across the country.
Based on the data, the HPG-Calabarzon had the most number of impounded motor vehicles with 593 motorcycles and 56 cars while HPG-National Capital Region had the highest number of traffic violation tickets issued at 1,959.
