10 dead as truck plunges into ravine

Ten persons were reportedly killed and 13 others were injured when the mini-dump truck they were riding in plunged into a ravine in the boundary of Lebak, Sultan Kudarat and South Upi, Maguindanao del Sur on Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 6.
The victims were residents of Barangay Senditan, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.
A report said the truck lost its brakes on a curved and downward part of the road and went straight into the ravine.
The victims were on their way home from a “salangguni” or engagement ceremony in Lebak when the accident happened, the report said. 
The injured were taken to hospitals.
Authorities are conducting investigation.
