The city government of Pasay City recently carried out clearing operations targeting illegally parked vehicles and sidewalk vendors to reclaim pedestrian spaces.
Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the clearing team from the Traffic Parking and Management Office (TPMO) conducted operations in Barangays 61 and 62, as well as along Leonardo and Salud Streets in Barangay 3, following numerous complaints from residents about sidewalks being used as parking areas.
Rubiano added that the team also inspected Roxas Boulevard and the LRT Baclaran Station to remove illegal vendors occupying public pathways.
She emphasized that the operation aimed to restore public spaces for pedestrians by keeping sidewalks safe, accessible, and free from obstruction.
During the operation, the team dismantled illegally erected stalls, pushcarts, makeshift structures, and removed parked vehicles blocking the pedestrian walkways.
