All-out manhunt: PNP-HPG vows to get 2 robbers who shot and wounded its officer in Makati
The Highway Patrol Group of the Philippine National Police (PNP-HPG) has doubled its efforts to identify and arrest the two suspected robbers who shot and wounded its officer in Makati City last week.
PNP-HPG spokesperson Lt. Nadame Malang said they are exerting all the efforts to bring justice to one of their officers, a police lieutenant, and their recent coordination with the Makati City Police is producing positive development as to the identity of the gunmen.
The wounded HPG official is an intelligence officer. He was waiting for his vehicle in a carwash shop on Aug. 1 with his child when the suspect arrived and tried to take away his necklace and service firearm.
The HPG officer was repeatedly shot by the suspect. He is now confined in a hospital in Manila.
“Fourteen cartridges were recovered and nine bullets hit our personnel. One on the shoulder and eight on the abdomen and leg areas,” said Malang.
“We are now working on the information that we have in relation to the identity of these people,” he added.
