Oklahoma City Thunder shooting guard Isaiah Joe was caught off guard when asked about the PBA’s four-point line during his visit in Manila last Friday, August 1 at the NBA Store in SM Megamall.
“You said a four-point line? Is that real?,” said Joe, visibly stunned by the question.
Joe, who shot 41.2% from three-point range during the 2024–25 regular season, expressed hope that the NBA will eventually adopt the same integration.
“That’s my spot, and that must be the Isaiah Joe spot.”
“I think that’s pretty cool, the fact that there’s a 4-point line. I think, hopefully, maybe one day the NBA will integrate that,” Joe remarked with a smile.
Fresh off their Game 7 triumph over the Pacers in the Finals, Joe stressed the importance of staying hungry to pull off a repeat.
“We have to be hungry. I mean, even more hungry than we were last season. Understand that there’s an even bigger target on our back.”
“Nobody wants us to repeat. So, um, have a zero-zero mindset that none of this that happened in the past carries over. Everything’s new. It’s a clean slate. And so, once we start fresh like that and have that same mindset, the same that we had last season, and build each and every game, it’ll help us,” he added.
The 26-year-old guard also expressed his enjoyment visiting the Philippines, where fellow NBA players Jordan Clarkson and Jalen Green also have roots
“It’s really cool to see because I’ve met some really nice people here, enjoyed some really good food.”
“I never would have ever thought that I would be here, and so the fact that I’m here and having the best time of my life, it means a lot. And just to know that their families [Jalen and Jordan] are from here, I just know that they’re good people because of that,” he added.
