During a Facebook live stream, Mayor Strike B. Revilla said the removal operations, alongside tree pruning maintenance, are being conducted along Aguinaldo Highway and surrounding areas.
“Napakadelikado 'nung iba, makikita niyo o, sinasabit-sabit lang nila 'yung mga wires. Pinapabayaan nilang nandiyan lang sa poste (Some of these are very dangerous. As you can see, they just hang the wires there and leave them on the posts),” Revilla said.

“Kaya minsan lumalaylay 'yan. Dapat po 'yan, kinukuha nila, 'yung ating mga public utilities. Eh ngayon, hindi nila kinukuha, ipapakuha na po natin 'yan. Ipapatanggal na po natin lahat ng mga patay, mga dead wires, mga hindi na po gumagana (That is s why sometimes, they sag. Those should be removed by our public utilities. But since they are not removing them, we will have them taken down. We will remove all dead wires, all those that are no longer functional).”
In a Facebook post, the LGU said the operation aims to improve public safety by removing hazardous wires, enhance urban aesthetics and declutter major roads, and strengthen disaster resilience by clearing obstructions that pose risks during storms or emergencies.
The project also intends to support infrastructure modernization in partnership with utility providers.
Residents and business owners, meanwhile, were advised to anticipate possible internet and electricity service interruptions due to the operation.
In the comment section of the LGU’s post, some residents, including those working from home, expressed frustration over the lack of advance advisory regarding the operation.
Others said the operation is inconvenient but necessary, and some suggested that the project be conducted not only along Aguinaldo Highway but also in other parts of the city.
