47 violators still in custody of Antipolo LGU since reimposition of curfew for minors

Forty-seven minors are still in the custody of the Antipolo City government since the lock-down type of curfew on minors was re-imposed on August 1.
The office of Antipolo City Mayor Casimiro “Junjun” Ynares, III said the rounded-up minors remain in the custody of the city government at Sitio Cabading and other barangay hall offices.
On the first night of the re-implementation of the measure on Friday, August 1, there were 79 violators who were brought to the city government’s facility at Sitio Cabading.
The other night, there were 29 minors who were rounded up, but there are still 47 minors who are in the facility for various reasons, including failure of their respective parents to show up.
Under the curfew ordinance, minor who are first time offenders will be brought to the nearest barangay hall or police station to undergo counselling conducted by the Barangay Council for Protection of Children, while their parent or guardian is required to perform community service of at least 48 hours or pay a fine of P2,000.
Second time violators will be sent to the holding center and attend the required two consecutive counselling sessions together with the parent or guardian.
The minor’s parent or guardian is also mandated to render 72 hours of community service or pay a fine of P3,000.
Third time and repetitive violators will be sent to the City Social Welfare and Development Office for counselling and corresponding action on the case, while his or her guardian or parent will be obliged to do community service for at least 120 hours or pay a fine of P5,000 or may face criminal complaint.
