3 suspects caught with balisong also linked to viral truck battery theft in Tondo

Three male suspects, including a minor, who were apprehended for illegal possession of a deadly weapon, have been identified as the same individuals caught on viral video stealing truck batteries along Road 10 in Tondo, Manila.

The suspects were presented by Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso and operatives of the Manila Police District (MPD) Raxabago Station in a media briefing.

The mayor lauded the swift action of MPD officers and emphasized the city's ongoing efforts to maintain peace and order, particularly in high-risk areas such as Road 10.

The mayor also called on truck owners to file formal complaints following a spate of battery thefts targeting cargo trucks in the area.

His call followed the circulation of a video on social media, showing the suspects removing batteries from trucks.

The mayor clarified that the viral video was taken last May.

Authorities are investigating whether the suspects are part of a larger criminal group operating in the vicinity.

Domagoso said police visibility and patrols have been intensified along Road 10 as part of a wider security response.
