The Philippines will host the FFWWC for the first time, with matches to be held in Pasig City, Metro Manila, and Victorias City, Negros Occidental. Sixteen women’s national futsal teams are expected to compete.
The AO said the event is an opportunity to promote futsal development in the country, boost sports participation among Filipinos, improve the country’s international standing, and generate tourism and economic gains.
The task force will be chaired by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) serving as vice chair. The PSC will also act as the task force secretariat, providing administrative and technical support.
Among the participating agencies are the departments of Tourism, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Budget and Management, Health, Information and Communications Technology, Public Works and Highways, and Transportation. Also included are the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Bureau of Immigration (BI), and the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
The task force is authorized to create plans and implement programs related to the tournament, coordinate logistics, and, if necessary, form an executive committee to guide its operations.
It may also accept donations, grants, and contributions from domestic and international sources, subject to relevant laws and regulations.
All national agencies, state universities and colleges, government corporations, and other instrumentalities were directed to extend support to the task force. Local government units and private sector partners were likewise strongly encouraged to participate.
According to the AO, the hosting of the FFWWC 2025 aligns with the constitutional goal to promote sports as a means to foster patriotism, social progress, and human development.
