BACOLOD CITY – The Sagay City government in Negros Occidental recently unveiled a P2.5-million clinic at Vito Elementary School in Barangay Vito to strengthen health and wellness support for pupils and staff.

Vice Mayor Narciso Javelosa Jr., representing Mayor Leo Rafael Cueva, led the turnover ceremony of the facility funded by the Department of Education Basic Education Facilities Fund (BEFF), highlighting the city’s commitment to improving school health infrastructure.
Javelosa said this is the second school clinic inaugurated in Sagay City, after Barangay Bato.
“While equipment is not yet in place, I assure you that Mayor Cueva will help facilitate its provision,” he said.
Schools Division Superintendent Dannie Clark Uguil described the new clinic as a “significant milestone” and stressed its role in fostering a healthier, more conducive learning environment. “This aligns with our vision of ensuring every child is healthy and ready to learn,” he said.
School principal Glenn Pedelo thanked the city government and DepEd-Sagay for the clinic.
PTA President Jinky Busico said the facility is a great asset to their learners, being the second of its kind in the city.
