BACOLOD CITY – A laborer was allegedly stabbed to death by his brother-in-law during an altercation in Barangay Salong, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Saturday, Aug, 2.
Police Lt. Col. Roberto Indiape Jr. identified the victim as 26-year-old victim Lloyd.
Indiape said the victim and the suspect, 33-year-old Anton, were having a conversation at home when a misunderstanding erupted.
Anton grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed Lloyd multiple times. The victim died on the spot.
The suspect surrendered to barangay officials and handed over the weapon used in the incident.
Police said Anton was allegedly a drug addict. Lawmen have yet to determine if he was under the influence at the time of the incident.
The victim’s family intends to file murder charges against the suspect.
