Four individuals were injured following an explosion along Tayuman Street corner Dagupan Street, in Manila on Sunday afternoon, August 3.
According to the Manila Police District’s Explosive Ordnance Division (MPD-EOD), the incident happened around 2:30 p.m.
Police said a dismantled air-conditioning compressor was found at the scene and is believed to have triggered the explosion.
Emergency responders from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), and local rescue units rushed to the site and provided first aid before transporting the victims to nearby hospitals.
Two of the victims were brought to Tondo General Hospital, while the other two were taken to Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center. Authorities have not yet released their identities or the extent of their injuries.
The area has been secured as investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The public is advised to avoid the vicinity while clearing and investigation operations are ongoing.
