Onic Philippines outlasted Indonesian counterpart Onic ID with a come-from-behind 3-2 victory to secure third place in the 2025 Mid-Season Cup in the Esports World Cup on Saturday, Aug. 2.

Duane “Kelra” Pillas and King “K1NGKONG” Perez took turns in the last two games of the series as the Philippine representatives overcame a 1-2 series deficit to reach the podium and bounce back from a stunning semifinals loss just less than a day ago.

Denied of almost every major objective in the early game, K1NGKONG delivered when it mattered the most by securing a clutch retribution on the Lord battle at the eighth minute mark of the deciding Game 5.

That gave the Filipinos, who were trailing by as many as 5.8K on the gold prior to the Lord dance, some more time to reach their power spikes.

And when they did, there was simply no looking back as the final siege at the 14th minute mark proved to be the nail on the coffin for Onic PH to secure the third place-clinching come-from-behind 4-8 tally in Game 5.

Of course, that would not happen if not for the Game 4 heroics of Kelra, who displayed nerves of steel on his signature Granger pick.

Kelra showed great poise in the last few sequences of Game 4, securing a triple kill in a huge team fight at the Onic ID’s jungle area to open up a base siege that forced the rubber match.

Kelra finished with an impressive 12-1-3 line on the Granger although he got big help from his crew particularly from Borris “Brusko” Parro, who saved Onic PH against the Lord siege of Onic ID.

Using the Badang pick, Brusko caught Gilang Sanz’s Kadita during Onic IDs march to the PH base, resulting in a two-man pickoff on the side of the Indonesians. The play allowed the Filipinos to successfully defend their base without any casualty and go for their own siege against Onic ID.
