A TEENAGE boy caught the ire of the LTO for dancing on top of a tricycle in Iloilo City in his underwear.
ILOILO CITY – The Land Transportation Office has warned a group of teenage boys, including one who was only wearing underwear, while dancing atop a moving tricycle in this city early Thursday morning, July 31.
Three of the five teenage boys were served with a show cause order by LTO-6 on Friday, Aug. 1.
“This kind of behavior is irresponsible and poses a serious threat to both those involved and other motorists,” said LTO-6 Regional Director Atty. Gaudioso P. Geduspan II.
The video that since become viral shows a motorcycle cruising on Diversion Road in Mandurriao District.
Aside from the boy only wearing an underwear, another teenage boy was seen on the side of the motorcycle mimicking a performer of the Dinagyang Festival and even had a Dinagyang headgear.
Shiela Mae C. Alulod, chief of the LTO-6 Intelligence and Investigation Unit (IIU), personally delivered the summons to three of the five teenagers in Barangay Bakhaw here.
LTO-6 also issued a separate show cause order to the owner of the tricycle.
“This was a blatant disregard for traffic laws and public safety,” said LTO-6 Assistant Regional Director Jeck D. Conlu in a statement.
Citing the Land Transportation and Traffic Code, Conlu reminded the public that it is prohibited to be riding on any part of a vehicle not designed for seating.
