2 students killed by door jamb in motorcycle crash

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Two students were killed and their companion was injured when their motorcycle crashed into a home in Pagadian City on Friday, Aug. 1.

Police identified the fatalities as Teffanie Saipudin and Jonalyn Oliva, both 17 and students of the Zamboanga del Sur National High School.

Their companion and motorcycle driver, Stanley Abria, sustained head injuries.

Investigation said their motorcycle was negotiating a downward slope when the brakes failed and crashed into a home owned by Jona Sadrino.

Closed-circuit television footage showed that the fatalities hit their head on a door jamb and Abria managed to stand up after the crash.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
