More patient transport vehicles (PTVs) were distributed by President Marcos, this time, in Mindanao.
Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs)
Marcos led the turnover of emergency vehicles intended for the cities and municipalities in Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Lanao del Sur and Isabela City in Basilan.
A total of 106 were turned over to the local government units (LGUs) on Friday, Aug. 1.
In his speech, the President reiterated that his administration aims to cover all cities and municipalities by the end of the year.
"[K]abuuan ng ating pagbigay nitong Patient Transport Vehicle ay matapos natin within the year magagawa na natin (We are expecting to finish distributing Patient Transport Vehicles within the year)," Marcos said.
"And then, patuloy pa rin ang bigay namin kasi yung ibang bayan malaki naman talaga kailangan dalawa. So, titingnan na natin, ia-adjust na natin (And then, we will continue with the distribution because other towns are bigger and they need at least two PTVs)," he added.
The distribution of PTVs is part of the PCSO’s Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program (MTVDP)which aims to provide LGUs and hospitals, especially those in vulnerable and disadvantaged communities, with much-needed medical transport vehicles.
Each PTV is equipped with essential medical tools, including a stretcher, oxygen tank, blood pressure monitor, and other supplies to ensure the safe and prompt transport of patients.
Marcos also assured the people that his administration will pour budget in healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
On education, he cited the government's initiative to provide access to internet connection to every school nationwide.
"And that is another part of our program. That is another part of our program, magkakaroon ng internet lahat ng eskuwelahan ng buong Pilipinas (to provide intent to all schools nationwide) by the end of this year," he said.
"At bukod pa doon, magbibigay tayo ng data para libre ang paggamit sa internet para sa ating mga guro, para sa ating mga estudyante (Aside from that, we will also give free data to teachers, for our students)," he added.
