Helper stabbed to death during altercation

NASUGBU, Batangas – A 43-year-old helper was stabbed to death by a 39-year-old construction worker during an altercation on Friday, Aug. 1, in Barangay Kaylaway, this town.
Police said the victim, Arnel, and the suspect, Rolando, were having a drinking spree when an altercation erupted.
Rolando grabbed a knife and stabbed Arnel. The victim managed to run but the suspect chased and stabbed Arnel again until he died.
The suspect surrendered and turned over the murder weapon to the chairman of Barangay Kaylaway.
Meanwhile, a 48-year-old man was gunned down in Barangay Santa Catalina Sur, Candelaria, Quezon, on Thursday morning, July 31.
The victim Charlie was sitting on his tricycle when two men onboard a motorcycle appeared and shot him.
Charlie died on the spot and the suspects wearing fled toward the town proper.
A 24-year-old woman was shot dead by a man on Thursday in Calamba City, Laguna.
The victim and the suspect were having a conversation when the suspect shot the victim twice. She died on the spot. The suspect fled on foot.
Police are conducting follow-up and manhunt operations.
