Get to know Jake Villamor

  • Jake is a model who wants to be recognized as singer as well.
From decorating homes, Jake Villamor is ready to take on the spotlight signing under ATeam. the management  group led by OPM icon, Ogie Alcasid. 
During Jake's official media launch in Quezon City last Monday, Ogie recalled the moment he met Jake in 2024 through his wife, Asia's songbird Regine Velasquez.
"Last Christmas, nag-aayos si Badang [Rueda] ng decors sa bahay, assistant niya si Jake. Si Jake ang nag-a-assist sa kanya ng mga ilaw. Nasa basement ako, dun ako nagre-rehearse for a show. Biglang bumaba si Misis, bitbit na niya si Jake, pinakilala,” Ogie shared.
(Last Christmas, Badang [Rueda] was decorating our house with Jake as his assistant. Jake was working with him with the lights. I was in the basement, rehearsing for a show. Suddenly, my wife came down with Jake. She introduced him to me.)

Seeing the good-looking lad, Ogie immediately asked Jake if he was into singing.
"Sabi ko, 'Kumakanta ka ba?'Tiningnan ko 'yung Instagram niya, nakita ko nga kumakanta. So, sinabi ko sa kanya, ‘Mag-usap tayo soon," Ogie recalled.
(I said, 'Do you sing?' I looked at his Instagram, and I saw that he does. So, I told him, 'Let's talk soon.)
It was like the stars had aligned for Jake during that time.
Not that Ogie had him sign a contract immediately.
The singer was busy due to concerts.
After a long wait, Jake accepted his fate and moved on with his life.
"I faced a lot of rejections. So, noong 'di ako binalikan ni Sir Ogie, naisip ko, baka wala na, baka may 'di nagustuhan about me. During that time, parang nagmo-move on na talaga ako kasi I thought si Sir Ogie, hindi na niya talaga ako kukunin. But thankfully, nag-message siya sa akin sa Instagram out of nowhere to standby," Jake said.
(I faced a lot of rejections. So, when I didn't get a call back, I thought maybe it didn't work out. Maybe they didn't like me. During that time, I felt like I was ready to move on because I thought Sir Ogie wouldn't take me in anymore. But thankfully, he messaged me on Instagram out of nowhere to stand by)
Before signing with ATeam, Jake shared that he was already part of a modeling agency, but they were amenable to him trying his luck as singer under Ogie's tutelage. 
Appearing in Ogie Alcasid's music video for "Hanggang Dito na Lang Ba Tayo?" with former PBB housemate Kolette Modelo, Jake was surprised with the positive reaction about him. 
Not that fans have also started to ship him and Kolette, dubbing their team up as JaKette.
