Airmen arrested for illegal discharge of firearms

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Three members of the Philippine Air Force were arrested for alleged illegal discharge of firearms here last Thursday, July 31.
Authorities responded to reports of gunfire in Barangay Quiniput at around 8:52 p.m.
Police and the barangay quickly initiated a hot pursuit operation that led to the apprehension of the suspects.
The suspects, all active members of the Air Force, were caught while traveling on the Quiniput Highway.
Police recovered four firearms and two empty shells from the scene.
Initial investigation revealed that the suspects were drunk at the time of the incident.
They are in police custody and faces appropriate charges.
