BACOLOD CITY – A newborn baby boy was abandoned and rescued in Barangay Tabunan, Bago City, Negros Occidental on Monday, July 28.
The infant, named Moises by the people at the center, was found without any clothing with ant bites by a farmer.
The baby was taken to a hospital and turned over to the Crisis Center.
Mayor Marina Javellana-Yao visited the baby on Wednesday, July 30, and expressed concern and hope for his future.
“I am really praying that this baby will have a bright future someday,” she said while holding the infant.
Yao assured that Moises will receive full medical attention, including necessary consultations and immunizations at the City Health Office.
She added that she plans to talk to the City Social Welfare and Development Office to discuss necessary measures for the baby’s welfare.
“Hopefully, God willing, we can bring him where he truly belongs,” the mayor said.
