MNLF commander killed in ambush

KALAHUDDIN

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A top Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) commander was killed in an ambush in Barangay Cusipan, Sibuco, Zamboanga del Norte on Wednesday, July 30.

The victim was identified as Asbirin Naing Kalahuddin, 68, leader of Snake Camp Muran and resident of Barangay Cusipan.

Police said the victim was driving his multicab vehicle at 2:30 p.m. when two men onboard a motorcycle appeared and shot him. He was wounded in the head and died in the spot.

Police are conducting follow-up and manhunt operations.
