An unidentified man was found dead, floating in the Marikina River in Barangay Malanday, Marikina City, on Wednesday afternoon, July 30.

The Eastern Police District (EPD) said the body was discovered by “Roberto” of the River Parks Authority (RPA) floating in the middle of the river and appearing to have drowned. RPA personnel immediately conducted a retrieval operation and brought the body to the riverbank.
Authorities said the man, described as around 163 cm tall, was only wearing short pants.
The EPD Forensic Team, led by Lt. Edmund Febela, processed the scene and reported that no external injuries were found on the body.
Authorities said they are still conducting an investigation to identify the cadaver and have requested an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
