'Habagat' rains ease across most of the country — PAGASA
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said significant rainfall from the southwest monsoon or “habagat” is gradually decreasing across most parts of the country
However, PAGASA weather specialist Chenel Dominguez said occasional moderate to heavy rains are still expected over the next 24 hours in some areas of Northern Luzon, including Ilocos Norte, Apayao, and Babuyan Islands.
Scattered light to moderate rains and thunderstorms may also affect Central Luzon, the rest of Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country may experience generally fair weather with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon or evening.
PAGASA advised the public to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides, particularly in areas affected by heavy rainfall or severe thunderstorms.
Dominguez added that no tropical cyclones are expected within or near the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the coming days.
