Daniel Padilla on younger sister Carmella Ford who joined showbiz: 'I'll be very protective of her'

Kapamilya star Daniel Padilla is thrilled about his latest milestone after he was recently named Outstanding Asian Star at the 2025 Seoul International Drama Desk Awards in South Korea.
Daniel offered this newest recognition to his legions of fans who have been supportive of his career for many years.
"I'm just doing my job. I always give 100 percent all the time. I want to thank all the fans because they are the ones who put me in that position. That's why I thank them with all my heart," said Daniel during the launch of his latest endorsement for KPC Express Corporation held at the BGC in Taguig City on July 28. "It's an honor to represent the Philippines on the international stage."
At the KPC event, Daniel was welcomed by Khelvin P. Cruz, Chief Executive Officer of KPC Express Corporation, his wife, Mary Cruz, co-founder, and Kathrine Garcia, KPC managing director.
Daniel said he would travel to South Korea in October to receive the award. When asked who would join his trip to Seoul, Daniel said, "I think my mom will join me in South Korea. I'm sure she would like to join me at that moment. I will go there not to represent myself but to represent the Philippines."
The actor admitted he couldn't be happier than the blessings he receives.
"These endorsements and partnerships are blessings. The right people are coming to me, so I thank the Lord very much," he also said.
Looking back, Daniel believes that things happen for a reason. "Huwag nating kalimutan na andyan lagi ang Panginoon at binabantayan tayo all the time. Magbigay ka ng pagmamahal, makukuha mo rin yan. (Let's not forget that the Lord is always there and watches over us all the time. Give love, and you will receive it back.)"
Daniel shared his inspiration with great passion. He expressed a deep wish to explore new opportunities and fulfill his dreams. His spirit shows that he will not settle for anything less than extraordinary.
"I still have plans for my family. Unang-una talaga ang pamilya ko dahil kaagapay ko sila. My inspiration comes from my dreams. I am 30 years old, and I am planning my life now on what I want and where I want my life to lead. I am working hard para sa mga pangarap ko. (I still have plans for my family. My family comes first because I support them. My inspiration comes from my dreams. I am 30 years old, and I am planning my life now on what I want and where I want my life to lead. I am working hard for my dreams)," he added.
After the popular series "Incognito," Daniel said he is working on another project but refused to give details.
He said it would be thrilling to work on another action project, but he doesn't mind working on another genre "if the script is good."
Daniel has just arrived from London, where he attended the Barrio Fiesta with other Kapamilya stars. Loud cheers welcomed Daniel when he performed for fellow Filipinos.
"Ang saya sa London dahil nakita namin ang mga kababayan natin doon. It was an honor performing for our OFWs," he said. "Maraming salamat sa mga nakisaya sa amin. (It was fun in London because we saw our countrymen there. It was an honor performing for our OFWs. Thank you very much to those who joined us.)"

Happy for Carmella
The "Incognito" actor was also excited for his younger sister, Carmella, who recently signed with Star Magic.
"Gusto niya talaga pumasok sa showbiz. I'll just guide her. The showbiz life is not easy. I told her na pumasok sa showbiz kung buo na talaga ang loob mo, puso mo ar sarili mo. Marami ang magdidikta sa'yo kung sino ka. (She wants to enter showbiz. I'll just guide her. The showbiz life is not easy. I told her to enter showbiz if you are genuinely committed, have your heart and yourself. Many people will dictate to you who you are)," said Daniel.
The hunk actor added: "Maswerte siya andito ako para bantayan din siya. Marami pa siyang dapat patunayan. But I'm proud of her. Andyan na siya at magsisimula na siya. I'm just happy na she's doing kung ano ang gusto niyang gawin. (She's lucky I'm here to watch over her too. She still has a lot to prove. But I'm proud of her. She's there and she's about to start. I'm just happy that she's doing what she wants to do.)"
When asked if he would be a stage brother to his sister, Daniel answered: "We will see —tignan natin. Hindi pa nagsisimula eh. (She hasn't started yet.) But I'll be very protective."
