Attempted shooting in Dasma foiled after gun malfunctions

CAVITE – A man survived an attempted shooting in Dasmariñas City after the suspect’s gun malfunctioned early morning on Wednesday, July 30.
A report from the Police Regional Office 4A said the victim was having coffee just outside his house when the suspect, identified as alias Edison, approached him with a gun and pulled the trigger.
Fortunately, the gun failed, sparing the life of the victim.
Following the foiled shooting, the victim reportedly tried to subdue the suspect, and the scuffle led to both parties sustaining head injuries.
Arresting officers from the Dasmariñas Component City Police Station collared the suspect as he was receiving medical treatment at Pagamutan ng Dasmariñas.
The victim, meanwhile, recovered the suspect’s gun and surrendered it to the police.
Authorities are now investigating the case, and the suspect is facing charges for attempted murder and violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
