Phivolcs lifts tsunami warning after powerful Russia quake
No destructive tsunami waves or unusual sea level changes observed

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) lifted its tsunami advisory at 4:40 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, after observing no significant sea level disturbances following the magnitude 8.7 earthquake off the east coast of Kamchatka, Russia.
Phivolcs said sea level data from monitoring stations facing the Philippine Sea showed no destructive tsunami waves or unusual sea level changes, prompting the cancellation of the advisory.
The quake occurred at 7:25 a.m. (Philippine Standard Time) on July 30, with an epicenter located at 52.2°N, 160.0°E and a depth of 74 kilometers.
Phivolcs had issued an advisory at 9 a.m. for possible minor sea level changes along coastal areas facing the Philippine Sea.
The affected provinces included:
* Luzon: Batanes Group of Islands, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, and Catanduanes
* Visayas: Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Leyte, and Southern Leyte
* Mindanao: Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte, Davao Oriental, Davao del Sur, and Davao Occidental
Phivolcs said this will be its final tsunami bulletin for the event.
