ILOILO CITY – Police seized more than P1.8-million worth of suspected shabu in this city in 24 hours.
The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) was able to seize 264 grams of shabu from 10 suspects between 4 a.m. on July 29 to 4 a.m. on July 30.
“These accomplishments demonstrate ICPO’s firm commitment to cleansing our streets of the menace of illegal drugs,” said ICPO police chief Police Col. Kim Legada.
The biggest haul was P748,000 shabu in a joint operation by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) and Police Station 6 in Barangay Calaparan in Arevalo District. Around 110 grams were seized from suspects identified as Cyrel, Tintin, Boy, and Doods.
A 56-year-old construction worker, alias Tata, yielded shabu worth P374,000 in Barangay Benedicto, Jaro District.
Recovered from 40-year-old call center agent, Mina, was shabu valued at P340,000 in an operation by Police Station 2 in Barangay Caingin, La Paz District.
Police Station 7 arrested Kimpay, who yielded P272,000 worth of shabu in Barangay Rizal Pala-Pala I, City Proper District.
Two separate operations yielded shabu worth P34,000 each in Jaro and Molo Districts. Police Station 1 seized P27,200 worth of shabu.
